Helena Chistensen

Helena Christensen is a Danish-Peruvian supermodel, photographer, creative director, and humanitarian whose multifaceted career has spanned over three decades. A defining face of the original supermodel era, Helena rose to international fame in the 1990s, gracing the covers of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and W, while starring in campaigns for all the major fashion and beauty brands.

Her unforgettable appearance in Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” music video, directed by Herb Ritts, further cemented her place in pop culture history—combining high fashion allure with timeless sensuality.

Beyond the lens, Helena has built an impressive career behind the camera. A celebrated fashion and art photographer, her work has been published in leading publications and exhibited in galleries across the U.S. and Europe. She uses her distinct eye for beauty, storytelling, and human emotion to create imagery that bridges art and advocacy.

Helena was the founding partner and creative director of Nylon magazine, where she helped shape the voice of a generation. She also opened Butik, a curated concept store in New York City, collaborated with Habitat London on homeware collections, and in 2024 was appointed artistic director of the Danish furniture brand Bo Concept. She currently serves as the creative director of Strangelove, a luxury fragrance house blending artisanal perfumery with poetic design.

In 2019, after four years of volunteer work Helena was appointed a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, leveraging her global platform and photography to document the realities of refugees and displaced communities around the world. Her humanitarian work has taken her from Ukraine to Colombia, using visual storytelling to amplify the voices of those too often unseen.

Today, Helena lives in New York City, where she seamlessly weaves together her passions for fashion, art, design, and global advocacy. Whether in front of the camera or on the front lines of change, Helena Christensen remains an enduring icon of beauty, purpose, and creative evolution.
